I have had multiple games in a row where I am absolutely dominating my opponent, only for them to summon an Ogre and win the game.
It seems like a such strong Phobie, for 7 keys you practically get a normal speed (2 tiles), ranged (2 tiles) tank (1700 hp base) that deals a lot of damage (400+350=750 dm base) per shot.
And considering that you only need to deal 2500 damage to the heart for his passive ability to be active, it will be active most of the time.
I have more of an issue with his ability, but if we want to keep it in tact, I think something as simple as making him 1 speed would help a lot.
It just feels like a get out of jail free card. Since it seems to me that the only counterplay is to be losing or actively avoid pressure points/let the enemy take them, which is directly opposed to how you win matches. And you certainly don’t want to lose because you were playing around a since unit, which the enemy might not even use/have.
But I am relatively-ish new to the game, so maybe there is a valid counter in the game that I’m not aware of, but definitely let me know what you guys think.
Poor dude only just got buffed!
1 speed would definitely kill him, thats way too heavy of a nerf. I honestly think that hes fine. 1700 isnt that tanky for a 7 key, lots of 7 keys have 2000 health. And his conditionality is a heavy price for admittedly very good damage. A lot of times you can either heart rush so hard that he cant get in before losing or keep them above 4000 heart health so hes terrible. Hes always gonna be a swingy comeback phobie thats kinda the point of him.
Remember, theyve gotta spend 7 keys on this and its single target, if their heart health is low enough you can just rush it and undercut him completely. What he punishes most is being passive late into a match. If they can slow the game while heaving low heart health thats when he becomes a deadly threat.
Just got Ogre. Idk about it, haven’t used it much but it looks pretty mid. Usually it’s hard to do the Aliengineer and save up a lot of keys in the end game without losing pressure so you have to actually play safe if you want an Ogre out. It’s probably much easier on large maps, and Ogre’s probably better on large maps, more panic points means more heart pressure means a faster Ogre summon. Although Ogre is just bad. Mid HP for 7 keys, it also just depends on its ability. Also Ogre is meant to be a comeback Fear, meaning you only really use it when you need it and usually you don’t need it because there’s so much better options.
