I’m starting to wonder if the event coffee card packs have different odds of new phones than the ones in the shop. 3 terrifying packs and 4 horrific packs with no new phobies feels pretty bad. Especially since I also opened a dreadful pack with the coffee from the event and also didn’t get any new phobies. I know this is within the realm of possibility, it’s just very frustrating.

That would seem unlikely, and i think they would need to be published if they were as there are strict legal rules about loot boxes (at least in Europe).
Probability is strange and can feel unnatural. However, i feel that the dreadful pack should always guarantee a new phobie. The odds would depend on if you still have some of a type (common to ultra rare), e.g. you are initially highly likely to get common, then when you run out of them, you’d be guaranteed to get rare, etc. Perhaps, that would make it too easy to collect them all.
How about instead, if you don’t get a new phobie, then you always get another pack of the next down. So you buy a dreadful pack, and you don’t get a new phobie, have another go with a horrific pack, still nothing try a terrifying pack. Still nothing, well at least you got loads of fear and upgrade cards.
