Creo que debe ser en el link que te dieron en el.eserver oficial, en mi canal de Youtube hay un publicación donde lo digo, ahí subo contenido de phobies, pueden buscarme como elerick phobies y le saldrá uno de mis videos
It’s been a fun tournament so far, I hope to improve my skill and unlock some more Phobies for the next one
I had some thoughts for future tournaments (or if possible this tournament):
Avoid maps that are collection checks for Phobies above common/uncommon
I think you need to be very careful when choosing maps that they don’t heavily favor certain Rare/UR Phobies. Even players who are level 120+ are missing these, and we don’t want a situation where someone is able to play the strongest phobies for a map, while the other person can’t really compete with their collection, even if they could on the other 90% of maps.
Maps with tons of abyss tiles or walls are examples. Stall maps where the main strategy is Blast0Matic also count, or pure heart rush where Morty or Speedolas (blue is rare) is required. Also maps where Smiley is crazy good.
I don’t know if Akira maps or Puff maps should be included, although those are typically large stally maps with a fair amount of abyss/walls.
Lavable worked fine, IMO, because Honey Bear and Charon are common/uncommon, and we saw numerous top players simply use Honey Bear or Charon instead when we know they have Prometheus.
Only one map can greatly favor a side
For the final stages of the tournament I think it’d be better to play more maps so side advantage isn’t as impactful. Sometimes maps favor p1 or p2 (usually p2 in high tier), and this helps mitigate the side advantage.
For the later stages, I think the best way is 3 Async games at the same time, where each player gets a side and then the 3rd game is random. While this gives one player an advantage, its smaller than in a best of 1.
Keep it Async
Async and Arena both test different skills. I think the quality of matches will go down for the finals, compared to before where calculation/planning/strategy is king. Especially considering that the players who make it will be the strongest Async and not the strongest Arena. We have yet to see how much effort players put into calculation, but I’ve heard the tales about how much people randomly put into ladder games, so who knows
Maybe it might feel exciting to cast the matches live, but I think they can also be covered after the match is over. Only a few people will watch it in-game, a small number of people will watch live, the vast majority will watch the eventual YouTube video(es), so I think it’d be best to keep the format the same all the way through.
Potential finalists losing the first round
I’m sure you’re aware of this but wanted to include it anyway:
Some strong players are going out the first round because they fought other potential finalists. For example, mojito and W0ZARD could both possibly win the entire thing, but are fighting each other first round, another example is Shinra (previous community tourny winner) fought first round and is already out because he fought Nuclear who is likely top 5 in the tournament.
Double elim and/or seeding based on rank in the current season might help this, as long as being higher rank = easier matches. Regardless, I think double elim should be added, to give people the chance to play twice so they aren’t kicked out immediately.
(I hope this isn’t too long of a read and best of luck figuring this out, i think tournaments really show the strategy of the game and the skill ceiling is very impressive)
