There are some things money can’t solve.
Channeling the spirit of The Floor is Lava, this map has a split in the middle. However, while The Floor is Lava often has issues with players struggling to cross the middle lava river (resulting in stand-offs once Player 2 stabilizes), this map bypasses this issue via mechanical Phobie’s immunity to disease. The intended result is a fast-paced small map where mechanical units are not required but provide an offensive advantage.
The key holes are placed in the corner to even out the map’s early tempo a bit. There are multiple openings forflyers or multiple 1 keys to capture panic points efficiently. With a wall placed outside of the key hole, there’s an incentive to terrorform that space for better access to the panic point across the disease line, and this also helps mellow the map out while retaining its explosive offensive potential. Turn 1 Snowball or a flyer allows Player 1 to capture the panic point across the river safely.
Additionally, there is a wall next to the heart that, when removed, gives 3-range Phobies an excellent turret position to pressure enemy panic points. This same wall locks players out from defending their heart, making it a prime target for removal.
My hope is that this map is grounded in a tried-and-true formulation while providing a fresh twist on that formula that ensures players have a good time. I did my best to create a mock-up of the existing tileset with my limited artistic skills - haha!

In the grim darkness of the far Phobie future, there is only war.
I thought it would be fun to have a map that feels like you are “in the trenches” of a war. Intermittant walls and puddles of disease abound as Phobies pivot around corners to take a shot! The heart is “bunkered” amidst a collection of walls, but is vulnerable to heavy lobber artillery!
Spatterings of disease tiles are intentionally spaced to limit ranged Phobie use to maintain panic points, but also to ensure that Phobies can still move about the map easily. There are no regions of the map that are hard to access for a non-mechanical Phobie. However, the preponderance of disease tiles ensures that players must be careful when pushers and pullers are around.
The closest lone wall to the vault can be removed to give 3-range Phobies coverage on all four panic points. Walls near the heart can be removed to increase defensive options or improve them. There are also prime spots to wall the opponent out from protecting their heart or contesting the panic point nearest to the heart, as one prefers. Especially, the space in the center of the triple disease triangle two hexes away from the heart can be a devastating tile to place a wall at.
Make sure to wear your gas mask…
