Phobies board game

I thought that the obstacles could have a little slot or just be flat enough for the flyer bases. For example, Crushmore’s obstacle could just have the base fit in the palm of the hand, but Grave Digger’s obstacle could have a custom little slot to insert a base. All the other base game obstacles could just be simple mental blocks.

Thats a good idea. The flyers would need to have a little seperation line far enough from the obstacle so it doesnt get stuck.

This all sounds absolutely incredible!! I’ve tried making some sort of collecters cards before and I think adapting it to a board game would make it even better!

You could buy a pack that comes with a mystery crate or something like that, then you would want to get more not only to trade the cards but also to get enough new phobies to expand gameplay. I think the card pack art should be from the game though as the card packs in game look sick!

This a very rough scetch of an idea but I’d like to know you’re thoughts on it.

The phobie cards would be useless without their figures, so only 1 card per pack, with their own figure

Couldn’t you trade them? Or the packs could come with 2 phobies and probably 2 cards? Or just 1 phobie and 1 card? I guess it just depends on how much you want in 1 pack

I think phobies pieces should be paper or cardboard slotted into a plastic slot because teams would otherwise not work.

Actually, thats a really good idea.

Do you mean the phobie characters or the collectable cards?

Pieces, also 3D printing is expensive and hard to make.

Yeah, thats another good point.

Theres no problem making tiny little plastic models, Bakugons are very complex figures and they manage to fund it, and besides, one small print would cost alot less than even 6 dollars, 3d printing is very cheap! And lets say that one pack that garrentues a phobie costs 10 dollars, that would be profit for smoking gun interactive.

I guess so, when I had the idea of the board game I just thought to play it with friends and family, not monetize it, but I guess.

Smoking gun needs to make money while making a card/board game, other wise they would never make something like this, and I wouldnt mind paying money for a cute lil collectible phobie that i can keep on display and use for a board game. (I cant say this enough but 3d printing is EXTREMELY CHEAP)

Yeah but, aren’t we making it, not smoking gun. That’s my problem, I was just making this as a passion project for my close friends. I doubt Smoking Gun would even make a phobies board game because of all the cards and pieces, balance changes, levels, whatever. Also we are making this from scratch and anything we make won’t be in a version if they actually endorsed one.

True I guess I got a little carried away  sorry about that!

yeah don’t worry! I’m as stocked and as excited about making a board game of this awesome game as you are. I just think that starting small and actually seeing if it could work is our base plan right now.

I agree, I think we should make something pretty basic, continue to expand on it and see where we end up (I would love to have a little 3d printed phobie though)

Anyone know where we could get something like this for the phobies to differentiate teams, and just to be able to hold them?
