There are a lot of fears that are strong and that nobody plays, even though there are plenty of reasons to play them. Take, for example, doughzer, who costs 8 but is hard to kill, has a hard-hitting attack and a pretty powerful effect, and can play the role of boss (obviously, this is a personal opinion). So don’t hesitate to tell me what you think of it, and what other fears you find underneath it.
the times i encountered this doughzer, i could play around him.
i think common cerberus is highly underrated. discovered him a few weeks ago again and he sometimes just eats everything on the way to enemy heart.
the other one i would say is tiny tim, he mostly refuses to die , secures panicpoints on the front or can just dig through the enemy heart for the killing blow. 1,5k damage on hearth directly is not wrong.
also i want to try mr tramples more.
Problem is his effect isnt that powerful. Locking movement isnt that powerful, and even if it was, Rusty does it for 1 key. What doughzer does best is be a giant wall of stats, though other units kinda do it better.
Yes but doughzer can do this several times
and he’s not afraid of getting killed by a cannon jar on the way
Wooly bully is my pick here. In my opinion, he’s the best debuffer in the game. Most people use other debuffers, like Bad Omen or Blondie, but unlike WB, they are mainly used in the offence. What WB lacks in numbers, he makes up for in flexibility. Having 2 movement & 2 range for his ability means that he can safely contain any ranged aoe unit, and he also has okay stats for a 5 key. I’m mainly a defense player, so for me he’s perfect for dealing with annoying fears like Klepto or Ginsting
Right, it’s also relatively cheap & robust
Hexxy.
Cheap & very robust build plus ability. Great for countering AOE units. Can put pressure at the right circumstances. Unlike other debuffers, doesn’t have one time use or any cold downs. So theoretically, you can keep debuffing for the rest of the game. Downsides are movement & damage reduction.
You can pair up with that monkey & Furnaceface for increased damage & protection. Though it’ll be a costly build.
What do you think about le shovel & fantom.
I do completely agree about le shovel’s nerf as he made the game very boring but what about fantom? I think he got nerfed pretty bad. The very first version was broken, no doubt about that but this nerf made it very ‘unworth it’.
Right now, he can only bring phobies with their abilities sealed that way. You can just use le shovel if you want to double click & most importantly, use their ‘skills’ as it’s way cheaper & functional unlike fantom.
The only good thing about fantom was, it’s ability to teleport phobies from a distance and those teleported guys can use their abilities normally. Thus you can make new pair ups & strategies. Like for example, pairing up Blondie, brutewarst, bad sheep, Hercubees, kaboom etc & use their ability at a crucial opening and thus wining the game.
The 1st nerf was good as it got 3 to 2 range nerf. But the 2nd nerf? Nerfing 5 to 6 keys was… considerable but having the teleported phobies abilities sealed in… is a big deal breaker for me. It may not be the case for big shot players who’s strategy is on a whole other level but hey… not all of us are on a level like that.
What do you think?
le shovell is not that omnipresent as before, and i might play him 20% less than before, but still. good phobie. sometimes i just open with him.
as for fantome, his more key cost hurts me more than the ability reset. I barely have any guys (maybe beside blastomatic) which actively gets hurt from it. Erratic, Cerberus, High Five, heavo plaid, they all don’t care about this. Boom and kerboom of course gotten even more… situational.
on the right map fantome will just put high five on your enemy hearth in one turn.
The nerf of Inoculus gave also oopsy baby a new role.
Im very much in favour of fantomes nerf, i cant speak for any other rank but at soaf 3 he was absolutely disgusting, and this nerf has actually made him honestly pretty reasonable. The crazy thing is, is despite how brutally he got nerfed, hes still good at high ranks. Like still B tier good. The nerfs as heavy as they may seem have done an excellent job at taking out the massive displacement meta the game had and made the game more tempo and damage focussed.
The nerf they gave inoculus was the nerf i didnt know i needed. It makes the game SO much better now that he only does 350. Creep is now way better now that it doesnt get 2 tapped by inoc and a lot of other underutilised options are now seeing much more play thanks to inoc doing less damage and being easier to kill
jup. also Thunderrocks most likely one shots him now even a bit overleveled. and thats makes just sense to me.
