[CONTEST] - Community Competition: Map & Phobie

Yes, I made irritantis unbalanced and uncommon (easy to obtain) so that players are forced to focus on eliminating it first, creating this pressure to come up with strategies or you gonna lose. Though now that you have mentioned the 2 turn duration on its passive was a mistake while making the card.

Coming up with concepts and doing those illustration alone took so much time. I didn’t gave much thought on those abilities, yet tried to keep it unique to some extent, If my submission gets selected I’m sure they will balance it accordingly for the game

Snoil is a petroleum slug full of fossils Skill: His ability throws a pool of oil that can be set on fire by attacking an opponent inside the pool or by attacking a wall (it can be put out with Honey Bear’s mud)

Industrialist He is crazy about science. It is said that before he died his name was “Nikolas” but it is just a strange theory skill:Industrialist electrifies a phobie dealing damage at the end of the turn if the affected phobie is surrounded by other phobies around it the effect will deal damage to the others making a chain effect (can be cured and affects all races)

Abigail is a mermaid tired of living in the depths of the sea. She always goes with her faithful friend crab, but she will not hesitate to throw him away to attack, even though she loves him very much. Skill:Abigail romances a phobie and the affected phobie will reflect 100% of its damage when attacking (it cannot be cured)

Let me introduce you to my phobie, his name is Magpotamus, he’s a lava phobie whose ability is that he’ll cause a new effect to all enemy phobies on the map, burning. The effect is like the disease effect but this one has 2 characteristics. It affects all 4 races and the main thing is that it can only be cured with Charon and Honey Bear mud.

Movement: 1 tile, walking by jumping slowly in the needed direction.
Attack range: all around itself in 1 tile by using its tentacles in all directions.
Damage: 400

Ability: A key investment

All of my ideas revolve around balancing resources and ability management, and this one isn’t an exception.

Spawn lock: 1 turn
Cooldown: 1 turn
Ability cost: 2 :key:

Using the ability would let the character transform into its next form at the start of your next turn. You wouldn’t be able to transform him in that turn, but would be able to at the next.

The stats for the other forms would be:

  • 2nd stage:
    

Animation: Some long tentacles push the chest open, staying outside of the chest now to attack
Health: 1600
Movement: 2 tiles, crawling using the tentacles outside of the chest
Attack range: 2 tiles, using a single tentacle to smack the needed phobie
Damage: 450

  • 3rd stage:
    

Animation: More tentacles break through the bottom and the top of the chest, now giving the phobie full movement and range.
Health: 2100
Movement: 2 tiles.
Attack range: 2 tiles in a straight line, punches through an enemy right in first tile to the second tile, attacking both for 100% of the damage.
Damage: 550

Also a new ability replaces the old one when it reaches the final form!
Ability: Hittin’ the key spots

Cooldown: 2 turns
Attack range: 2 tile radius, 50% damage falloff on the 2nd tile
Attack: 700

This phobie would be an interesting pick either for the slow game against a (or as a) trapper, or for anyone who wants to play it slow and wait out a push from the opponent.

You’d basically get a 7-key phobie for the cost of 6 keys and some waiting! What could go wrong? Basically everything.

  • Hides in a 3x3 area like a trap.
  • It is undetectable and indestructible in this state.
  • If a non-mechanical Phobia steps on the trap, it gets infected.
  • After 3 turns, the infection is completed, and the infected Phobia dies.
  • Incubuss takes its place in a new form with new stats, depending on the key cost of the infected Phobia:
    • 1-3 keys: Form 1
    • 4-6 keys: Form 2
    • 7-9 keys: Form 3

Passive Ability - ZOMBIE

  • Absorbs 40% of enemy HP after attacking.
  • Cannot heal or be healed.

Transformation Stats

  • Form 1: 1000 HP, 3 attack, 2 speed, 500 damage.
  • Form 2: 2000 HP, 2 attack, 1 speed, 300 damage.
  • Form 3: 3000 HP, 1 attack, 1 speed, 1000 damage.

Deals damage and pulls the enemy 1 tile closer if it kills them.
Takes 50% more damage from poison or disease.


Letumaris seems like a terrifying and strategic Phobie, capable of disabling enemies with sleep and stealing their attack power!

Phobie 1:

Attack Damage - 450
Attack Range - 1 Tile
Movement - 2 Tiles

Passive ability - Cursed Shield: Negates all damage less than or equal to 350 attack damage, including disease/poison/fire damage less than or equal to 350. All damage higher than 350 will hurt normally.

This monster is a haunted suit of armor that wields a medieval sword and shield. Theres no monsters based on this, soo enter Knightmare! A tanky phobie that will be able to safely attack enemy phobies and capture points without having to get chipped out by little pesky phobies. I believe this could change the meta and allow more phobies to get more use because every phobie deserves some spotlight!

Edit: I forgot to mention that the damage in their passive ability should also increase each time it levels up since this phobie would be pretty much useless if it went against high level phobies such as a level 10 Razor Claws.
