Battle Info - 2 Players
  • Players will be chosen to be Player 1 or Player 2 randomly in a matchmaking game. Player 1 takes the turn first in each game.
  • Player 1 always starts on the left side of the battlefield, while Player 2 starts on the right.

  • Key_Main On-hand Keys are the keys that the player currently has.
    Player 2 starts with 1 more on-hand key than Player 1 on small maps and 2 more on large maps.
  • KeysP1 KeysP2 Reserve Keys contain the keys in reserve, which are transferred to the On-hand Keys after each turn.

Battle Info - Turns

The battles in this game are turn-based. The 2 players in a battle will play their turns alternately.
Some of the events in a battle happen automatically at different timing of a turn.

Some events only happen in your own turns, some only happen in your opponent’s turns, while the rest of them happen in all turns.

Battle Info - Turn Starting Events

The order of events that happen at the beginning of a turn:

  1. Active Ability’s cooldown and unlock timers decrement (either player’s turn)

  2. Passive Ability – Passive_Healing_Pool Regenerate (Regenerating player’s turn)

  3. Passive Ability wearing off – Special_Peace Too Friendly! (either player’s turn)

  4. Passive Ability – Special_Burrow Burrow (Burrowing player’s turn)

  5. Passive Ability – Passive_mineSweep Eye Spy (Eye Spying player’s turn)

  6. Opponent’s Passive Ability wearing off – Special_Stone Petrify (Opponent of Petrified player’s turn)

Some events only happen in your own turns, some only happen in your opponent’s turns, while the rest of them happen in all turns.

Battle Info - End-turn Events

The order of events that happen at the end of a turn:

  1. Passive_Digestion The Glob’s Digest (Both player’s turns)
  2. Traps laid this turn become active (Trap planter’s turns)
  3. Traps go off or being absorbed (Either player’s turns)
  4. Healing pool heals (Either player’s turns)
  5. Damage dealt to Phobies from Poison / Disease / Fire / Lava (Poison and Disease only triggers at the end of the victim’s turns only)
  6. Passive_Disease Passive Disease (Caster’s turns)
  7. Buffs wear off (Either player’s turns)
  8. Debuffs decrement (Either player’s turns)
  9. Passive_Resurrect Resurrect (Both player’s turns)
  10. Panic Points captured (Both player’s turns)
  11. Damage dealt to Hearts from Panic Points(Both player’s turns)
  12. Additional map layers wear off (Both player’s turns)
  13. Keys replenished from Reserve Pool to Playable Pool (Either player’s turns)

Battle Info - Inventory (Part 1)

You can bring up your Inventory of owned Phobies on your own turn by tapping your Vault.

  • toggle Toggle between Favorited & All – Selecting the Star icon to show Favorited Phobies only. Selecting the Key icon to show all.

  • keycost
    Key Cost Navigator – Selecting a number to display all the owned Phobies of that key cost only. Accessible once you own 30 Phobies.

  • favorite Favorited – You can tap and hold on a Phobie to Favorite / Unfavorite it.

  • killed Killed in Battle – The Phobie has already died in the current battle and can’t be spawned again.

Battle Info - Inventory (Part 2)

  • spawned Spawned – The Phobie is in play in the current battle and can’t be spawned again.

  • selected Selected – Select a Phobie from the list to bring up its full-sized card.

  • unaffordable Unaffordable – The key cost of this Phobie is higher than the keys you have in your Playable Key Pool. They can’t be spawned until you get enough keys.

Battle Info - Actions

By default, each of your Phobies has 2 Action Points per turn.

The Phobies can use Action Points however they want to:

  • Move
  • Attack
  • Use Special Ability (limit of 1 per turn)

Phobies that have been action debuffed only have 1 Action Point per turn while debuffed.

Battle Info - Danger Zone

When you select an enemy Phobie on the battlefield, there will be hex overlays in red showing on top of the surface of the map, indicating the hex tiles that the selected Phobie can target with their farthest reaching Attack or Ability, excluding abilities that target the entire map.

The displayed Danger Zone is based on the current layout of all Phobies and Obstacles on the map while the Phobie is selected. It could change if there are changes of the layout.

Battle Info - Status Effects
The Phobies can be affected by various status effects during battle. Some are bonuses that are applied by friendly Phobies, while others are negative and applied from enemy Phobies. Most status effects have a duration, but some last forever.

Battle Info - Earning XP

You can earn XP in battles by taking these positive actions:

  • Spawning Phobies
  • Dealing damage to enemy Phobies or Heart
  • Using abilities (active or passive)
  • Capturing Panic Points
  • Healing HP
  • Killing enemy Phobies (key cost based)

Battle Info - End Game Conditions

There are a variety of ways to win.

  • Your opponent loses all their spawned Phobies and they have no more keys left, or there’s no more valid Phobies to spawn.
  • Your opponent’s Heart is destroyed.
  • Your opponent surrenders.
  • In Ranked Async and Friend mode, your opponent allows the game to expire.
